How
does Estelle-35ED differ from other "Pills"
Most oral contraceptives contain both an oestrogen and a progestogen.
Estelle-35ED is different in that it contains an oestrogen,
ethinyloestradiol, and an anti-androgen, cyproterone acetate.
The substance cyproterone acetate contained in Estelle-35ED
inhibits the influence of the male androgen hormones, which are
also produced by the female system.
It is thus possible to treat diseases caused by either an increased
production of androgens or a particular sensitivity to these hormones.
